FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

What insurance do you accept?

At this time, Refuel Counseling is an out-of-network provider and does not directly accept insurance. However, many of our clients are able to receive reimbursement through their insurance provider using a superbill (which are happy to provide). Additionally, we accept HSA and FSA cards, which makes payment simple and flexible for families.

We’ve found that this approach often gives clients more freedom in choosing the counselor that best fits their needs, without being limited by insurance panels.

What can I expect to pay for my session?

Rates vary depending on your provider.

Rachel Menzoian: $160 individuals/$175 couples

Max Merritt: $150

Lindsey Dasher: $125 individuals/$140 couples

Marina Meisner: $125

Ingrid Amason: $110

How long will my session last?

Individual therapy sessions typically last 45–50 minutes, while group sessions run a bit longer. Most clients meet with their therapist weekly or bi-weekly, depending on their needs. The overall length of time in counseling varies for each person, and is decided collaboratively between the client and therapist based on individual goals and circumstances.

What can I expect at my first counseling session?

Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your therapist and share your story. We’ll talk through your history, current needs, and what you’d like to get out of counseling. Most importantly, this session is about making sure you feel comfortable. Since the relationship between client and therapist is so important, we usually suggest meeting for more than one session before deciding if it’s the right fit. If we feel another professional would be a better match for your needs, we’ll provide trusted referrals to help connect you with the right support.

Do you offer virtual counseling sessions?

Yes! We're proud to offer online sessions through secure telehealth platforms, offering you the flexibility and convenience to meet in the way you're most comfortable.

What ages do you work with?

Our therapists work with children, teens, young adults and beyond. Each client is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet the developmental stage and individual needs of every person we serve.

What if I need to cancel my scheduled session?

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for the session. This policy allows us to offer the time slot to another client who may be waiting.

What if I am in crisis?

If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please do not wait for a scheduled session. Call 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, dial 911 in an emergency, or go to the nearest emergency room. Once you are safe, you can reach out to us for ongoing support. Counseling at Refuel is not intended for emergency situations, but we are here to help you find the resources you need for long-term care.
